Arthur Cyrus Goerlich Papers

Arthur Cyrus Goerlich was born in Manhattan in 1894. Goerlich graduated from Columbia University in 1916. His professional career began in 1917 as an assistant educational director for the Bronx Y.M.C.A. Goerlich served as dean of the Insurance Society of New York’s School of Insurance and later founded the College of Insurance and. In 1964, Goerlich retired after a career of nearly fifty years in insurance education. He died in 1975.

This collection contains materials from Goerlich’s life and career as an educator of insurance students. The collection includes personal correspondence, correspondence of the Insurance Society of New York, photographs, press clippings, and academic papers.
